Brush your teeth, but do it right!

Zähne putzen, aber richtig!

Beautiful and healthy teeth require regular care. The right technique is crucial. In today's blog post, we explain how to brush your teeth correctly, what you need to consider, and how often you should brush them.

Dental health plays an important role when considering overall human health. Therefore, the general recommendation is to brush twice a day. Ideally, you should brush your teeth in the morning and evening. To remove all food residues, brushing in the morning after breakfast is better than before breakfast. Your brushing experience should last between two and three minutes. However, you should definitely avoid harsh scrubbing. This not only damages the sensitive enamel but can also harm the gums.

If you have consumed acidic drinks or foods, you should not immediately reach for your toothbrush. If you allow some time to pass, the sensitive tooth enamel can regenerate better. Immediate cleaning combined with acid can further stress the tooth enamel.

You should change your toothbrush or brush head every two to three months at the latest. Worn bristles remove significantly less plaque.

Technique Influences Brushing Results

Toothbrushes can be seen as tools. To clean your teeth thoroughly, you should trust a brush that you can use well and that thoroughly cleans all teeth and interdental spaces. For conventional toothbrushes, you should place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to your teeth. The best way to clean your teeth is with light, oscillating, and vibrating movements from the gums to the tooth crown. Avoid harsh scrubbing.

You brush most effectively when you brush your teeth section by section. First outside, then inside. First the upper jaw, then the lower jaw. Finally, clean the chewing surfaces of your molars. In the area of the chewing surface, you can press a little harder.

Where a Normal Toothbrush Struggles

There are tooth surfaces and interdental spaces where a conventional toothbrush fails. Interdental spaces, in particular, are often difficult to clean. However, this is precisely where most food residues and, consequently, bacteria accumulate. Cleaning with dental floss or a suitable interdental brush is recommended here. However, the use of dental floss and special interdental brushes is very time-consuming, as each interdental space must be cleaned individually.

Instead of a normal manual toothbrush, you can also use an ultrasonic toothbrush. This works at the touch of a button. The round brush head thoroughly cleans your teeth and interdental spaces. Pressure during brushing is usually not necessary, as, for example, our emmi®-dent ultrasonic toothbrush "oscillates independently" but without vibration. Thanks to the clever brush head, brushing is possible without mechanical movement.

Simply hold the brush head to your teeth. Our emmi®-dent ultrasonic toothbrush takes care of all important cleaning tasks for you. Sparkling white teeth, healthy and well-maintained, are the result of our patented technology. The abrasion-free application prevents injuries to teeth and gums.

Perfect Dental Health Thanks to Ultrasonic Technology

The piezo chip in the brush head and our ultrasonic toothpaste of our emmi®-dent ultrasonic toothbrush transmits 96 million air vibrations per minute. Tiny micro-bubbles form, thoroughly cleaning your teeth. You protect your teeth and gums. The result? Noticeably smooth teeth and a lasting fresh mouth.
